I finally had.
Few years ago I sow first ‘stupid’ movie about dancing across the world guy.
Silly not a specially talented guy. Making movies about himself performing some pathetic moves and called it dancing.
In those days I said ‘hee?!’ and went further.
Few days ago I accidentally found his web page over the Internet… and I stack there for hours. The idea is simple but impressive – and I REALLY ENJOY that very much.
Programmer form USA was traveling abroad and decided to do something different. Most of tourists take photos of themselves with a postcards, souvenirs and monuments. He decided to dance. After the trip he putted his vacation movie on the Internet web page. After that his friends started to ask a question: hey… where the hell is Matt now?
That’s the story about the guy who started the business just traveling.

ReplyDeleteInteresting..I've never heard about him. I like the general idea but I think it would be much more interesting if he would learn traditional dances of each region or country. Dance with other people can be helpful in better understanding diffrent cultures, people and their mentality.

I love this guy. I've seen the video like 1000 times, but never accually dug more info about him. The music is just outstanding, the way how it's combined with the dance is great. Who would have thought that dancing around the world could become a successful bussiness? Besides, just by taking a look at those faces, you get the smile on your own face. By the way, he has also been to Warsaw :)

ReplyDeleteHe was tired about ‘normal’ city life. Waking up, going to work, shopping after the work and returning home. Routine.
He has finally gained a sponsors who pay for his trips. So now he is traveling whit dance. For me sounds great… nothing to complain about.
This is very amazing. This is cool and inspiring to others, it shows how people can come together as one and have fun, no matter who you are, you can still have fun with other people and see that we are all the same. My yesterday's bad humor was improved by this movie especially scene in Korea and Papua New Guinea I laughed for several moments and replay them :) PS. This is the funniest and coolest presentation that I saw here!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard about the guy too. I think it's interesting what he does. It isn't really common:) And it's better way to remember your trip and have funny memories than just taking pictures. It's also a great way of meeting people.
ReplyDeleteBut I wouldn't agree with s8939 that he could dance traditional dances of the countries. To me fun is greater when you do it spontaneously and learning steps and stuff would take some time and also for someone who isn't really good at dancing or interested in it, it wouldn't be that funny either.
It is great that there are people/companys that givemoney for people like Matt. This is an example that life doesn't have to be boring routine but we can do what we like. Everything is in our hands - so lets do something interesting instead of sitting in front of the computer ;)

ReplyDeleteSimple yet very inspirational idea turned out to grasp attention of millions of people across the world. The guy is famous and respected for what he does. The great idea was the application form placed on Matt's web page for signing in for events. Great stuff, using Matt's words "loads of fun".
By the way... Where the hell is Matt now? :)

ReplyDeleteI saw this movie some times ago. It's very positive and full o happy people. Great man, his idea is awesome, if this guy is happy when he doing this it's good. Many of people aren't happy because they don't risk in live and don't do what they really want. But really live is dependent mainly from us. For me the good words: no risk no fun :)
ReplyDeleteWell I have to say I really don't understand the main idea of what he does.. it's fun maybe. But not so special to admire him. He just jumps with people from all over the world for a few minutes..the truth is that great "traveler writers" inspire me more than guy like him. Sometimes simple things are better than "hilarious" ideas..no offence
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's fun but just as s8939 wrote: he could have made something much more interesting as he travels around the world because watching the same guy do the same dance in different places becomes pretty boring: the vid was too long, two minutes would be pretty enough. Like someone wrote: it would be much better if he had done the local dances, not the same lame dance; he dances just terribly.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I admire him for discovering the way to make a living that he really enjoys, that is fun and interesting for him, besides it gives him fame. My question is: how the hell did he find sponsors for this? Enormous respect for taking your life into your own hands and finding an original way of earning money.

ReplyDeleteAs I presume, this guy has tottaly different intenctions than inspiring people to do something great. In my opinion he only wanted to show ordinary people how simlpe and boring life can be changed to something great. This movie is not about guy dancing around the world. This movie is about person who deciced to do something more than terrible day-night routine (work/home/sleep x5 + weekends). I support such and ideas in 100%.

ReplyDeleteI have such a feeling that nowadays everybody forcibly to the originality.. let's just be ourselves and do what makes us happy even it's seems to be boring for other people.

One will be fascinated by doing work/home/sleep x5 harmonogram (which in my opinion is rather vegetation than living) others would enjoy travels, meeting other cultures, diving, bungee jumping and so on ;)

Dancing Matt is not a bad idea at all. When I saw this video I was stunned that you can make somebody happy by simply dancing. I do not want to say anything about Matt’s talents or abilities since I do not know him personally. However one thing can be sure, he is a good entertainer since so many people find him so amusing.

ReplyDeleteMatt is an interesting example of a person becoming famous thanks to the Internet. Some time ago, when there was no Internet and, later on, when it was still not popular or easily accessible, people had to be really talented to become famous and recognized by everyone. Nowadays, it has become very easy to spread information, ideas and images. People know how to use this opportunity and this is how individuals such as Matt become 'stars' recognized by millions. There are many examples of such people, not all of them are really original or talented. To be honest, I think that in most cases it's just about coming up with something either extra-ordinary or even something extremely stupid yet original, uploading it to YouTube or posting it on Facebook and this is how your career can easily start. When it comes to Matt, what he came up with is actually quite funny and he spreads a positive vibe making people dance with him. It doesn't irritate me like, for example, Justin Bieber does.

ReplyDeletePointless, useless. :) I've watched two clips in the article. I was not amused. I've waited for the funny moment the whole clip. I thought to myself: "if he persists from this something funny soon gonna happed". The clip ended and I've realized that I wasted the >10min of my life watching this. :) I know thing that most of his viewers go to his website because they cannot believe he just dances and he has sponsors. My 2 cents. :)
