Paris - the most important sights

Paris is commonly believed to be the most romantic, picturesque and bohemian of all European capitals. This city of lovers is annually visited by millions of tourists, who come from all over the world to admire its beauty and charm. There are dozens of places in Paris, which fascinate visitors with their unique ambience and splendor, but some of them just cannot be ignored.

First of all, the Eiffel Tower is the essential point of sightseeing itinerary. This monumental steel construction has become the unquestionable symbol of Paris. Despite the great deal of controversy, which it arose at the early beginning of its existence, nowadays nobody can imagine Elysian Fields without it. Going up the tower with the lift in order to admire the bird’s eye view of the city centre is also worth recommending.

Afterwards, you should make your way towards the Louvre Palace, which is one of the oldest and most famous world’s museums. According to estimates, it would take about 2 weeks to see it carefully, but when you do not have enough time to be absorbed by this fascinating art gallery for such a long time, you should spend at least one afternoon to see the most famous exhibits like for example Mona Lisa, Nike of Samothrace or Venus of Milo.

Your trip around Paris could not be completed without visiting the Triumphal Arch and taking a photo in front of this historical monument.

Finally, after the strenuous sightseeing it would be a nice idea to relax having a cup of coffee in the one of numerous cafes of the famous Montmartre hill. Do not be mislead by the impression of exclusiveness and watch out your wallet, because the pickpockets are the real nuisance of the area.

Undoubtedly Paris is not a city of one trip, as it is impossible to see all important sights during a short stay. If you want to get to know it better, you have to come back there several times, but even a single visit can result in a lifelong affair with this unique city, which is really easy to fall in love with.

  1. I'm a fan of the Eiffel Tower. It's great example of how great expositions may create something so recognizable. Another thing is picture put below, which makes me think that Parisians must have go there to see building of this structure. It really looks amazing.

  5. 1. For me Paris is simply capital of the France, just a common city with a rusted tower in the middle.
    2. I am not a gay, but my girlfriend says that most romantic are Rome and Venice.
    3. I have been to Paris when I was a young child and I must say I can recollect to nice histories. First is connected with alcohol. It was Paris where I had my first drink, but the second one is better. I photographed Mona Lisa and escaped all over the place, because photographing was forbidden and the guards were chasing me. Off course as a child I was not aware of it.
    4. I don’t have a favorite city, but I feel some sentiments to the city I came from.

  6. From hundreds of years, Paris is located in the center of historical , political and economic events. In Europe and the world city is primarily associated with many monuments, museums as well as the capital of the world of architecture, fashion, entertainment, culture and science. But for me more romantic city is Rome.

Rome is often called the Eternal City and is a place you actually can not be precisely visited during your single stay. That's why tourists almost always return here, and every time, they discover something new which has not been yet perceived. It's very romantic to come back with Your soulmate to that city and discover it again and again.

  7. Generally, I don't like French people, they are very rude for foreigners. They don't try to understand you, even if you try to speak in their own language!! :/. Paris is nice city but also very dirty one. For me much more romantic place is Dubrovnik, Venice or Barcelona.

  8. I don’t like France at all. People are strange, language is strange. It’s a funny thing - when you go out, walk through the city it’s hard to see native French resident. Lot of Turkish, Muslims, Asian – people with other skin color http://besty.pl/1539/Reprezentacja_Francji. For me it’s interesting. When you go out and observe the people, after few whiles you can notice characteristic generic nation of particular country. In France – not. I’ve been there couple of times but never visited Paris. Maybe the other day. My favorite city?

Definitely POCHÓJCE GÓRNE in Beskid Żywiecki.

  11. What do you think about Paris?

I have never been to Paris myself, but it seems to be a bit overestimated. It surely isn't on my top10 places to visit. On the other hand, flights to France are pretty cheap so after all I may visit Paris one day :)

    What is more romantic city?

Do you meant if there is a more romantic city than Paris? :) If yes, than I would say Monaco :)

What is your favourite city and why?
I really enjoyed staying in London. It's the only city abroad that I stayed long enough to say that it's great! Overpopulated and crowded, but with a cool blend of people of all nations.

  13. I have never been to Paris, but I really want to visit the city someday. I don't really think it's romantic becouse it is crowded and apparently dirty so I consider Paris as a very overrated place. Anyway, there are many interesting things to see. My favourite city is the one I live in, Warsaw. Although costs of living here are quite expensive but I really love that specific pace of life.

  14. I was in Paris six years ago and I'm not so keen on as most of you. At the same time I don't think it's the most romantic place in the World. For me for an example Rome, Florence or even Prague is just more interesting and lovely. Paris is crowded, noisy and so overrated.

  15. Watching Paris nowadays I change my mind a little bit about the french. Surrendering Paris without fight in 1940 was not such a bad idea: after all they didn't have a chance to win anyway, at least they had their capital not destroyed. I wish it had been the same with Warsaw - it would be much better without the unnecessary uprising.

As for the romantic places - I find Venice more romantic:)

  16. i was there, and i was not so impressed by this city of love. It is expensive, crowded and dirty. Eiffel Tower is good attraction for 10 minutes, but you can very fast hate it for high price to go on the top of it. By the way, there are always long queues to it. Mont mart or sacre coeur is realy beautiful, the sight for paris from there is great, and the marketplace next to it is full of painters and artists. It is so commercial, but it shows a piece of Paris spirit. The most ugly for me is quarter with modern arc of triumph. There are only skyscrapers, bureaus and markets. It is the reverse of the old part of Paris. I didn't fall in love in Paris.
